Keto Breakfast Recipe Ideas

A keto breakfast is one of my favorite meals of the day because I’m not into heavy carbs in the morning. I sit at a desk all day, and the last thing I want is to eat a plate full of carbs for breakfast. There are many high protein and healthy fat foods to choose from. The go to staple keto breakfast foods for many who are on the diet is bacon, eggs and sausage. I’m not too fond of bacon and fried eggs in the morning because it gives me heartburn. I do like to eat a couple of hard boiled eggs, a few slices of turkey bacon and maybe some almond butter.

An awesome keto breakfast and one of my favorites is thin sliced ham, cheese, peppers and onions, cooked with 3 soft scrambled eggs. I like to also make this breakfast scramble with egg whites, and avocado slices on the side. If you’re eating low carb and not full on keto, this scramble is awesome with crispy-homemade hash browns. Another option and one of my favorite keto breakfast recipes is smoked salmon with sauteed spinach, onions and egg whites.

Keto Breakfast Recipe: ham, egg and cheese scramble

4 oz. thinly sliced and diced cooked ham
2-3 whole eggs or egg whites
2 slices cheese (use a soft cheese that will melt easily) I like pepper jack, Swiss or American
1/4 cup each diced onion and bell peppers ( I like to also use jalapenos and habanero peppers)
1 tbsp coconut oil

1. Add the oil and heat your skillet to medium and saute your veggies (use whatever you want: mushrooms, spinach, garlic, shallots, zucchini and etc.) Keep your veggies al dente, don’t cook until soft and mushy.
2. Turn the heat down and add your ham and cook until heated (you can use smoked salmon, shrimp, corned beef, bacon or sausage)
3. Put the beaten eggs or egg whites and cheese in the skillet and scramble to your likeness.

If you like living on the wild side and are looking for a high calorie keto breakfast then try cutting up some bacon and frying it. Throw some spinach and diced onions in the pan and cook till the spinach is wilted and the onions are tender. Put 3-4 eggs whole eggs in the skillet, cream cheese and scramble. This is a perfect meal for cutting on a keto diet. These are some easy ideas for a ketogenic breakfast without tons of calories and takes no time to fix.
